Body Control Pilates classes specialising in lower back pain (Healthy Backs) and osteoporosis (Healthy Bones).

A BIT ABOUT ME

I've been teaching pilates since 2008, I successfully completed the Body Control Pilates Matwork teacher training courses – basic, intermediate and advanced levels, specific qualifications to help people with osteoporosis, pre and post natal, and older adults all at level 3. I have successfully completed extensive level 4 specialist training and assessments to become a Back4Good Practitioner (Level 4 Lower Back Pain), which enables me to help people with low back pain. Additionally I update my training annually as part of the requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with a variety of pilates skills and equipment courses, and of course, first aid.

HEALTHY BACKS CLASSES

Effective exercise for the prevention and management of low back pain

These classes are beneficial for people who already have back pain and for those who want to try to prevent it.  The exercises work the whole body.  All equipment and mats are supplied for use during the classes. 

Everyone in the class will progress at their own pace,

it's not a competition !

HEALTHY BONES CLASSES

Exercise for people with osteoporosis

These classes are ideal for those who have already been diagnosed with osteoporosis, and those trying to prevent it. 

The exercises in this class focus on strengthening the bones,

and are also beneficial to people who are preparing for or have already had a joint replacement. 

There will be a variety of balance exercises throughout these classes.

1-2-1 PILATES SESSIONS

For those recovering from surgery

One to one pilates sessions are ideal for people who have had recent surgery and have been given the all clear to begin exercising.  You will progress at your own pace.

ZOOM PILATES

Online classes for those who prefer it !

Class size is kept small to ensure that everyone is exercising safely, and in a way that benefits them.  Minimal equipment is required.

For each class, there is an information sheet (which I'll email to you), which contains details about the class, price, holiday dates etc. 

In addition, there is a health form for you to fill in and return to me BEFORE you attend your first class, where you can tell me about any health issues that you have - of course, it's not compulsory to have any !
